IOC in Talks with Potential Candidates for Future Summer Games

Discussion Ongoing with 10 Interested Cities

International Olympic Committee Explores Host Options

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is engaged in discussions with 10 potential candidates from around the world to host a future Summer Games. This comes as the IOC looks ahead beyond the 2026 Olympics, which will mark the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Games.

The IOC has not publicly disclosed the names of the potential candidates, but several reports have identified cities such as Rome, Budapest, and London as being in contention.

The IOC's decision-making process for selecting future host cities involves a rigorous evaluation of bids based on factors such as infrastructure, financial capabilities, and legacy plans. The final decision is typically made several years in advance of the Games.

The 2026 Summer Games are set to be held in Los Angeles, United States. The 2024 Summer Games are scheduled to take place in Paris, France.
